Tales of Miles Platting

Tales of Miles Platting was part of the Miles Platting Age-Friendly Neighbourhoods Board Legacy Project.

Sarah Spanton was invited to work in collaboration with the board to support their move to becoming an independent group, following their part in a Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU)-led action research project.

Tales of Miles Platting was a co-designed and supported board members to jointly plan and deliver the project alongside Spanton, The project included a programme of creative writing and visual arts workshops for older people, intergenerational workshops, the production of a large visual arts book, and a final celebratory event, with performances, disco and a buffet.

 

The wider Legacy Project included training towards the board's sustainability, community research, developing new partnerships and future projects.

 

The project was funded by GMCVO via Manchester Metropolitan University.
