Running a community market?

Sarah Spanton was asked to run a workshop on thinking through the issues to setting up and running a neighbourhood community market, as part of the Empowering Places programme's Learning Camp in October 2018.

The workshop focussed on the practical issues that need to be thought through before embarking on setting up a community market, such as finding a site, market rights licenses, energy supply, customers, trader contracts and promoting your market.

The workshop was originally aimed at the seven catalysts organisations taking part in Power to Change's Empowering Places programme, but could be tailored for any neighbourhood group thinking about setting up a community market.
