Mappers Collective
Spanton is a member or the Mappers Collective, a group of facilitators, trainers and consultants offering workshops on place-based asset-mapping for community businesses. The group formed to deliver an asset-mapping workshop ‘Mapping Your Neighbourhood’, at the Empowering Places Learning Event (for Power to Change and Homebaked) in February 2017.
These workshops use a range of participatory techniques to identify and visualise local physical and people-based neighbourhood assets, to make connections between those assets, and identify gaps and potential. The collective comprises Sue Ball, Emily Crompton, Marianne Heaslip, Britt Jurgenson and Spanton have gone on to develop workshops for School for Social Entrepreneurs delivering in Cornwall, Liverpool, York and London.
