Seeds of Joy
Seeds of Joy is a co-designed and co-produced, place-based community regeneration programme supporting local residents to get involved in green spaces on their door steps, as a way to take action in their neighbourhood. The programme began in 2021, it was set up and is being developed and managed by local community gardeners in Miles Platting in collaboration with Waymarking and partners MCRactive.
Seeds of Joy is a community gardening project taking place in Holland Street and Ridgway Street Community Gardens in Miles Platting. This project is supporting local people to:
Relax, enjoy and be inspired by the gardens and being outdoors
Get involved in gardening: for health and wellbeing, for growing food to eat, and for nature
Develop their gardening skills
Work together to improve their community gardens for all
The 2022 programme includes: regular Blooming Friendly Gardening Sessions, some gardening workshops, Oasis Wellbeing sessions, a family-focussed Spring into Summer event in May, a promenade between five Miles Gardens in July and a family focussed Harvest event in September.
