Seeds of Joy 2023

Waymarking C.I.C. has been working in close partnership with MCRactive over a three-year period (see Archive), to support community members through co-design and co-production to develop agency and influence as a group. The Seeds of Joy (SOJ) programme focusses on community gardening and community development, aiming to make Miles Platting a great place for gardening.

 

The SOJ programme has supported the SOJ Community Gardeners Group to form and work together cooperatively, attending monthly Gatherings and delivering their own event, the Garden Walkabout in June 2023. They are a diverse group of people who live and work in Miles Platting, they lead on a range of community gardening spaces in the neighbourhood.

 

The 2023 programme has included other activities:

• Blooming Friendly Gardening Sessions - building gardening skills and confidence at Ridgway Street Community Garden

• Oasis Wellbeing Café – chatting & relaxing in Ridgway Street Community Garden (in partnership with Greater Together Manchester and Winning Hearts & Minds)
